Boiler-plate dis­claimer for any future writ­ing I may do: This writ­ing will be ridicu­lous. It will make sweep­ing state­ments of dubi­ous valid­ity. It will pose ques­tions which may have been answered many times. It will make no bones about a lack of ref­er­ences, a lack of illus­tra­tive exam­ples, and a con­sis­tent lack of exper­tise in any of the areas within which it goofs around. Its point will be this: to shoot first and have the ques­tions writ­ten on the bullets.
